What Can You Drive With A Class 3 License?

To legally operate a commercial truck, you must obtain a Class 3 License. 
Alberta allows individuals with a Class 3 License to drive a wide range of vehicles such as:

  • Every vehicle permitted for Class 5 drivers
  • A single vehicle equipped with three or more axles
  • A vehicle with three or more axles towing a trailer with one or more axles (excluding trailers with Air Brakes)
  • Class 1, 2, 4, or 6 vehicles, but only as a student

Vehicles You Can't Operate With A Class 3 License

These are the vehicles you cannot operate with a Class 3 License.  Alberta regulations have specific restrictions in place to ensure safety and proficiency when operating certain types of vehicles.
