Gennaro Transport Training offers the Alberta Air Brake Program. This program offers drivers the chance to gain information on how to operate vehicles equipped with air brakes. You must complete this program and add the air brake “Q” endorsement to your Alberta Operator’s License in order to operate any vehicles with these types of brakes.

In what format will the air brake knowledge test be?
There are 30 multiple choice questions randomly generated from a bank of test questions. You must answer 25 of the questions correctly to pass the test. There is no time limit; however, the test ends automatically if you answer 6 of the questions incorrectly. There is no limit to the number of times you can take the test, but there is a fee for each attempt at the test. The test will continue to be only available in English.
Is there a limit to the number of times I can take the test at a Registry Agent office?
No. Overall there is no limit to the number of attempts you can make at a Registry Agent office. However, there is a limit of one test per day.
How long will the air brake endorsement remain valid?
For Albertans who have completed the Alberta Air Brake Program, the air brake endorsement will remain valid permanently on your operator’s license.
